She'd already made her mind

Welcome to Blogs Over Easy, a weekly review of my blog hopping. This week's theme is all about travel. Earlier this week I wrote about an Airstream, a train and then a girl hitching a ride. So while yes, I got in a lot of traveling around blogs this week, this BOE is about my own exploration, what inspires me and what troubles us all.

This week I attempted to write a piece for an exercise and I struggled so it's still a very rough draft. For a second prompt I wrote about a gal, and several readers remarked it sounded like a song. I'll record it when I figure out how.

For now I've included favorite music I listened to for inspiration. The first is Lyle Lovett which is embedded but I hope you access the other links as well. Nothing like a little country and folk music, roots run deep.

It's Enough to be on your way
Ghost Train by Marc Cohn
You can close your eyes by James Taylor

What moved you this week? What inspired you? Not feeling the love this week, drop a link to your blog.

Happy blog hoppin',
L

  1. I adore Marc Cohn's music. I discovered him when Glamour magazine ran a review of him, comparing him a little bit to James Taylor. I don't think they're all that similar, but I love them both.

Lyle Lovett does a really cool version of "Stand By Your Man" at the close of the movie "The Crying Game." Great choices!

  2. I get a kick out of looking at the humor pins on Pinterest. Always makes me laugh and gets me feeling good.

  4. Oddly enough a song by Townes Van Zandt called “Waiting around to die” is what inspired me this week. It’s sad but it inspires me.
