Art: Zero Calorie Full

Happy weekend and welcome to Blogs Over Easy, my weekly review of a few my blog hopping adventures. Today it's about what we take in visually. While I concede we are bombarded with images for commercial and social aims, can I ask you to slow down and take more than a millisecond to appreciate the beauty found on our blogs?

There is this undeniable pull to art. If not literature and poetry, then the second greatest pull for me is visual including photography, textiles, painting and jewelry. Regardless of what art form we create, aren't all artists drawn to anything beautiful? And we find beauty everywhere. This weekend is a nod to those who give us pause, those who feed our souls. Show some love, visit and thank an artist for creating the beautiful.

Windrock studio
I know Susan from Vision and Verb. According to Susan, Larry is the artist. At Windrock you'll discover a way cool, old school, hippy couple who epitomize long love and happiness. Their work is beautiful, hand-crafted, the kind of work that won't make them rich but enriches you. Check these artisans out.

Be Yourself
I've featured Beth before. And you'll likely see her featured again. Her photographs, her commentary and overall aesthetic is magic, a dream made real. Beth is unfiltered and gifted. Every time I visit her blog I spend time gazing and contemplating what she shares. You can't go to Be Yourself, read one post and leave. It's impossible. Visit and tell me what you experience there.

Shawna is a new blogger for me. Her blog is a lovely mix of poetry and photography. The background is a serene, silhouette of a yogi surrounded by water at sunset. From the onset, this blogger affects you.

What moved you this week? Share a link and brief description.

Happy blog hopping,

  5. Vision & Verb! Yes... the "Hippie" couple keeps NICE company. I follow a dear woman, Ginnie - traveler, photographer, and forever young at heart, that is also in V&V.

  6. The game plan had been to get a much needed hair cut and enjoy the day writing. What happen was I spent the day with my parents and then shopping and cooking for the kidlet. Family. Why is they can take up your whole day completely oblivious that you might have other plans? lol
