Saw a motley crew at the bus stop today. Took me back. I was always running, desperate to find myself. Today, I enjoy the ride. I travel for the view. No ticket required.

smiles...i saw motley crue a few times...um, not the same thing...smiles...but i have spent a bit of time trying to find myself along the way as well...def easier to just enjoy the ride...and the view...
This made me smile. I think I'm still running, but one of these fine days I'll be traveling for the view. As an aside, how sad is it that the delightful term "motley crew" has apparently been subsumed by the name of a rather silly band? And thus language evolves. Or devolves, depending on one's perspective. :)
Sometimes I have to remind myself to relax whether it's about life or prompts or my views. When I saw this, I went with what came up naturally. Glad to hear so many of you like it. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteI thought of Motley Crue, as well...now that takes me back! It's nice when we reach a point we can enjoy the ride and travel for the view :)

ReplyDeleteExcellent! Love this!
ReplyDeleteNot a Crue fan and I feel like some of the meaning escapes me. Nice response anyway.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan either. It's the definition of motley is why I chose it.
DeleteI remember those days. I'm so thankful that I'm finally able to travel for the view. La Tonya, I really like this piece!
ReplyDeleteI like this. Cool and laid back.
ReplyDeleteMotley is such a great word! This had an open mic jazz vibe to it. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteLife is all about the journey, isn't it? :) Your words here are so simple and easy but say so much. Beautifully done.
