seventeen minutes

seventeen minutes is a ritual
born out of necessity

seventeen minutes is the distance
between home and daily commute

seventeen minutes of outside meditation
walks down the pressure

seventeen minutes is  portal, morning
respite where healing begins.

  2. cool on that forced 17 minutes you spend commuting... if i go on my bike to work i have an hour to relax and meditate and leave the working day behind..it's a good time... very cool

    1. Claudia, not forced really. I had a job once where my connection was downtown versus catching a bus outside my door which I do now. I timed what was the average time it took me to get to my stop. My actual commute was an hour and half. :-)

  4. 17 minutes is a great span.. And meditation while walking sounds like a great way to start the day. Myself it's 35 minutes on bicycle ;-)

    1. Mister was a cyclist. I've been plodding him to buy a new bike. He left riding behind when he relocated to be with me.

  9. Omg. Before they tore up the main street of my burb and i had to change my routine until they finish, I had a--wait for it--seventeen minute walk to the bus stop! My early morning and late afternoon meditation time. No music no phone, just my thoughts. I miss it but won't have it back til mid October.
