Knead me: 33 clicks to Om

between thumb and palm rub
the ache that beats beneath my breast

massage peppermint into my temples
light candles and push back fear

teach me to chant-    low
a mantra rubbed between breaths.

  1. Peppermint can be used as a painkiller, so I'm thinking that the unseen lover spoken to has cured what ails the speaker, in so many more ways than one. Lovely stuff, Latonya, sensual and sexy.

  10. As a migraine sufferer, I know all about the various benefits of natural healing techniques, meditation, etc. on pain. When I read your poem, I thought you were referring to physical pain. The photo makes me think you might mean emotional pain, too. In either case, your language is very lyrical and lovely. I enjoyed visiting your blog. Well done.

  16. Lovely. I read it completely differently - a writer trying to massage those emotions into the right words, trying to figure out how to make them flow. Maybe I have this on my mind, lately. :) Welcome to Trifecta - hope you stick around!
