Inspiration at Ford & Inkster

There they were: sitting on the corner,
squat and round, cackling like pigeons
congregating in a busy downtown square.

Their squawking rising and dipping while
they ate Fritos and slurped Mountain Dew,
waving at the cars going by.

  5. You described this brief scene with great attention to sensory details: the taste of Fritos, the cackling and squawking and the final wave of the hand all adds such life to the piece.

  8. LaTonya, welcome to the Toads!

I have lived in many cities and am, too, a people watcher like you. The cackles and the Fritos were my favorites... there is a busy pigeon-style bustle to their tarrying! Peace, Amy
